South Carolina Beats Kentucky

In SEC college football action this afternoon, the Gamecocks of the University of South Carolina defeated the Wildcats of Kentucky by a score of 28-26. South Carolina is now 5-1 on the season.

Major Columnist 'Outs' Obama Plot to Destroy U.S.

Well, my friends, the notion that Barack Obama and his minions are out to destroy America and replace our way of life with a radicalist agenda has now hit the mainstream.

A major columnist now believes that Obama's ultimate goal is to destroy the economy using the Cloward-Piven strategy so that a new order can be implemented.

Read about it today at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

Patriots, it's time to keep your powder dry and your weapons loaded. We are in for the fight of our lives.

Vanderboegh Blasts Clayton Cramer Over Open Carry

At the outset let me say I support the open carry of firearms. We have a Constitution with a 2nd Amendment in the Bill of Rights that says the right of the people to keep and 'bear' arms shall not be infringed.

Now, given that we have such an inalienable right which the Constitution protects, then why should any citizen be made to feel that they must hide their firearms with 'concealed carry?'

Having said that, prudence often dictates that firearms be concealed...common sense, you know. But that in no way suggests that in this country with a history that clearly affirms citizen firearms we should somehow be made to feel that we are required to hide something we have a perfect right to 'bear.' That is an individual decision that should be left up to the individual gun owner.

As much as I respect Clayton Cramer, I think he got it wrong on this issue. But Vanderboegh, in his unmistakable style, puts it all into focus much more clearly than I. Read Cramer's article and the Vanderboegh response by clicking here.

The Sheriff vs. The Feds

Calling himself “the poster boy” for those who support the enforcement of federal immigration laws, Sheriff Joe Arpaio said he will continue to arrest individuals who are in the country illegally, even if Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) does not renew the 287(g) agreement that the Maricopa County (Ariz.) Sheriff’s Office has operated under for the past two years.

The Feds are demanding that Sheriff Joe immediately stop enforcing the law. Sheriff Joe refuses. Good for him!

This should be an interesting showdown between local law enforcement that is serious about our nation's laws and a monolithic federal government that is not.

Big Stink with NRA in Hurst, Texas

Texas Fred continues to keep us posted on the ongoing dispute in Texas with a mayor who has taken a Michael Bloomberg attitude toward gun rights.

So virulent has been the mayor's vendetta against guns and gun owners that the NRA has stepped in, ratcheting up a notch or two the level of intensity of the battle.

Fred encourages us to stay informed of the still-developing story by checking out the comments section of the local newspaper's story on the dispute, the Star-Telegram.

Apparently the paper has deleted some key comments and has so far refused to correct its story which contains several blatant inaccuracies.

South Carolina College Football!!

Steve Spurrier and the Gamecocks of the University of South Carolina square off against the Wildcats of the University of Kentucky in a game that is currently under way at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia.

Spurrier and company have a chance to go 5-1 on the season with a win today. The Wildcats have struggled with a record of 2-2 this season, but the team is much stronger than their record indicates.

All indications point to a hard-fought game on the gridiron today.

So far in the first quarter of play there is no score.

Second Amendment News Roundup for 10/9/09

Focusing on guns, politics, and news of interest, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:

Texas Fred reports breaking news concerning the Hurst, Texas mayor whose anti-gun views have raised the ire of the NRA.

David Codrea has a great read on the proper mindset toward gun owners, as exhibited by a Sheriff who is conducting rifle training classes.

Vanderboegh notes a very happy anniversary--the 1967 death of Castro's henchman, the cold-blooded murderer of multi-thousands in the name of Communism, Che Guevara. Funny how Che is viewed as some sort of hero by college professors and students, and many supporters of none other than Barack Obama. That should tell us all we need to know about the real motivation behind these dangerous subversives.

Western Rifle Shooters Association provides excellent reading from L. Neil Smith of Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership, who contends that there is a dire need of another 'Reformation' within America's religious groups. This is a must-read.

Way Up North points out the numerous reasons Americans have nothing to apologize to Europe for, in fact, this should show that if anything they should be falling at our feet, forever grateful for the great sacrifice of life we made on their behalf.

Standing By has a vital update on Obama-czar Cass Sunstein's proposal to limit the free speech of bloggers. This man is one dangerous s-o-b. One more excellent reason to fire this Congress, replace them with Patriots, and then impeach Obama, throwing him out of office.

Conservative Libertarian Outpost presents a thought-provoking article entitled, 'The Rights of Englishmen,' examining such things as the Magna Carta and the present quest in America to preserve our natural, innate, God-given human liberties.

Days of our Trailers highlights another case of the gun-grabbers' 'dancing in the blood of victims' mentality.

Mike McCarville shows us a spoof concerning 'the firearms salesman of the year.' And this man has certainly done much to cause gun sales to skyrocket.

From Kurt Hofmann: 'What Supreme Court "Victories" Really Mean for Gun Rights.'

Billy Beck examines the motivation, mindset, and methods of the socialists, this time within the context of the consideration of government-run healthcare.

GunRights4US posts an excellent graphic that perfectly depicts the sentiments of the armed citizenry toward government oppression.

From John Jacob H: 'Incorporation and the Roberts Court.' I must say I believe that he has excellent taste when it comes to writers! lol

Pax Parabellum says, 'And you just THOUGHT ObamaCare would be free!'

Say Uncle reports yet another case of 'pants shittin' hysterics' concerning a man who was fired for merely looking at gun websites on his computer!

Sebastian reports that the New York Daily News has called us a bunch of liars regarding 'the Bastards' most recent vendetta against guns and gun owners.

Robb Allen informs us he was on a talk radio show last night. Go over there and click on the link for details.

Tam points to a comment-generator for us gun nuts.

Breda provides gut-wrenching commentary on the death of one of our own--a woman who believed in open carry but whose life was snuffed out by an abusive husband. Read it all.

The Black Sphere has brief but excellent reading on the stupidity of the Nobel Peace Prize Committee.

And now, for your Friday afternoon reading pleasure, The Ol' Broad presents the finest political cartoons on the Internet. Enjoy...

Nobel Peace Prize Committee Strikes Again

Barack Obama is now in that elite group of stellar examples of 'peace,' such as Yassar Arafat.

Today at Columbia Conservative Examiner I discuss the various reasons why we should take the Nobel Committee's choices with a grain of salt.

And just wait till you see some of the past recipients! My, my, what a gathering of 'role models.'

Second Amendment News Roundup for 10/8/09

Focusing on guns, politics, and news of interest, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:

JR has a rather interesting read entitled, 'Buffalo Bore and the .380 Auto.'

Tam has some more 'boomsticks and ammo' stuff for the shooting enthusiast.

DANG! I've never seen a wolf that big. Traction Control posts a photo of a wolf shot by a hunter in Alberta, Canada, and let me tell you, THAT is quite a wolf! Of course, one has to wonder if the photo has been 'photoshopped,' and if there ever was an actual shooting. Who knows, but it's an interesting pic.

Nicki provides essential reading entitled, 'The Hypocrisy of Democrats.'

The Newbius Papers keeps up the pressure on us not to forget the new FCC assault on bloggers. Read the post and click the link he provides. Stay on top of this one, my friends!

Ride Fast and Shoot Straight has an excellent run-down of public opinion on the California ammo ban.

Robb Allen posts a cool video of slow-motion ballistics. Take a look!

Rev. Kharma provides excellent reading concerning the role of government in American society. Read it all.

Vanderboegh delivers a few sharp words to those who are whining about the Nyberg flags. It would seem that a stunning number of people continue to be: A) Hopelessly ignorant, and B) Annoyingly unaware of when to shut up.

John Jacob H shows us a great idea on the availability of guns--an idea from an unlikely source, South Africa.

Alphecca reports that 'the Bastard' is at it again!

Walls of the City goes even further on this and says that 'the Bastard' is actually breaking the law!

Roberta X posts a MUST-read on 'blood dancers, idiots.' Wanna know what she's talking about? Take a look.

Texas Fred says that the 'commander in chief' is AWOL on Afghanistan. Meanwhile, the troops are losing morale.

Western Rifle Shooters Association has a perfect follow up to my Examiner article on the ever-worsening economy. Market guru Denninger is even more skeptical than the sources I quoted. Take a look. Learn. And protect yourself!

Squeaks gives us an update on her life as a gun enthusiast and blogger, college student, Memphis Pet Examiner, and...one who is about to get married in a month. Go say hello.

That's all for today, folks! More tomorrow...

Dire Economic Picture Gets Much Worse

Despite the pretty face the Administration attempts to put on a monster, the economy is slipping away, this time bringing us precariously close to a major collapse.

Note the major financial reports filed today in the press at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

Are we witnessing right before our eyes a gathering financial 'perfect storm?' The signs say yes.

Second Amendment News Roundup for 10/7/09...

...is non-existent! Server problems for half the day prevented me from doing the Roundup. I do apologize for that because I saw some of your stuff you have posted today, and it's great reading.

But, the Roundup will be back tomorrow, full force, on THIS SITE, not at the Examiner.

I have provided some news stories and links today that should be of great interest. I hope you will read them and follow the links.

Have a great day...

Buckley's Slam-Dunk of Obama

Friends, I have a very personal article today on my political mentor, William F. Buckley, Jr. One of his last articles before his death was a highly perceptive piece entitled, 'Inside Obama.'

This is classic Buckley. And my commentary about it is at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

As a bonus feature I have included a special section entitled, 'Memories of Buckley,' as I recount some of my fondest memories of a man who taught me many lessons about conservatism and life in general. It is a very personal, brief memoir. I hope you will read it.

SHOCKING NEW SCANDAL AT ACORN

Folks, it is beginning to look like my suspicions, which I voiced last November concerning the results of the 2008 Presidential election, may be confirmed.

A shocking new scandal has been uncovered at ACORN involving the organization's practice of discarding Republican voter registration forms. This was being done even as the group loaded up the Democratic side of the registrations, often using phony names or the names of the deceased.

My favorite Jewish lady in all the world, Pamela Geller at Atlas Shrugs, has a major article on this scandal today.

By the way, did you notice Pamela's articles are now appearing in some of the major conservative magazines and websites, such as Human Events, NewsMax, and others?

Way to go, Pamela!!

U.N. Takes Aim at our Ammo Supply

If the United Nations gets its way, our ammo supply will simply dry up. Barack Obama and his team have made it clear they believe U.S. law is subservient to the United Nations.

So what does that tell you about the U.N.'s push to disarm citizens by taking away their ammo?

A storm is coming. So get ready.

Report: Gun-Grabber Bloomberg Goes Underground

You who are regular readers of The Liberty Sphere know that NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg is one of the most rabid anti-gun bigots in the country. This is why we refer to him here on The Liberty Sphere as 'the Bastard.'

You also are aware that the Bastard started a group that is dedicated to getting rid of the handguns owned by the citizenry. I forgot what their official name is, but it doesn't matter. I refer to them as 'the Bastard's Mayors Against Constitutional Rights.'

Now, it would seem, the Bastard has gone underground.

The group is still very active publicly. But the Bastard is undercover, continuing his quest to undermine the Second Amendment rights of the citizens. The article you will find by clicking the link above will show you how.

Hoyer Confirms End-Run Suspicions Concerning Healthcare Bill

Those of us who have been warning you for months that Congressional Democrats and Barack Obama will attempt to shove their vision of government-run healthcare down our throats using sly, end-run tactics have now been vindicated.

Steny Hoyer, Senate Democratic Majority Leader (and one who needs to go, I might add), admitted today that he may well send the current healthcare bill in its present form, without any changes, directly to Barack Obama for his signature.

This would effectively by-pass continued debate, even without having to pass through a Senate-House conference committee--which is standard procedure.

Make no mistake, my friends, when politicians wish to engage in stealth legislation and by-pass standard procedure, we can be assured we are getting screwed. There is something in the bill they don't want the public to see. They want no public scrutiny and they certainly want no protest.

The Founders of this Republic referred to such chicanery as 'tyranny.'

Get Set--Nanny State Coming After You With a Needle!

Apparently Kathleen Sebelius, Obama's ultra-Leftwing Secretary of Health and Human Services, has inched one step closer to calling for mandatory swine flu vaccinations.

This headline and news story quotes Sebelius as saying, 'Americans must get swine flu vaccinations.'

Better get set, my friends, the Nanny State is coming after you with a needle.

Now, I am not totally against vaccinations and other prudent precautions. Using one's head about these things rather than engaging in knee-jerk reactions is of utmost importance.

However, I just don't take very kindly to anybody in this government telling me I must do anything!

Barack, Kathleen, and company could give us a little more credit for our intelligence than this. I am a grown adult, older than both Obama and Sebelius, and I have sense enough to make my own healthcare decisions without their sticking their noses into my business.

Message to the Nanny State--GO AWAY! BEGONE! AWAY WITH YOU!

Second Amendment News Roundup for 10/6/09

Focusing on guns, politics, and news of interest, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:

The Roundup...click the link.

Today the Second Amendment News Roundup is posted at Columbia Conservative Examiner as part of a test marketing strategy. Everything is the same as always, just a different venue.

Congressional Dems Resist Public's Right to Know

I have coined a term that describes this 111th Congress, as led by the Democrats. It's 'the Stealth Congress.'

They love passing legislation that no one has read, and they certainly don't want YOU, the citizen, to know what's really contained in these bills.

I discuss this issue today at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

Give it a read. Consider subscribing. It's FREE. You may even consider telling a friend...

Second Amendment News Roundup for 10/5/09

Focusing on guns, politics, and news of interest, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:

David Codrea asks a pivotal question that goes to the core of the integrity of Supreme Court Justice Sonja Sotomayor--will she recuse herself from the Chicago gun case? If she has an ounce of integrity, she will.

Kurt Hofmann has an excellent essay on putting teeth to the exclamation, 'Never Again!' Too often this is given mere lip service.

CCE highlights the growing rift between Barack Obama and the U.S. military.

Mike McCarville points to a thorough analysis of the GOP Governor's race in Texas and its broad national implications.

JR reports the good news that he has met his goal in his recent adventure of a lifetime. Go over there and congratulate him.

Alphecca provides great reading on a rather odd news story concerning what several Supreme Court justices heard at church yesterday.

Nancy Morgan, writer, commentator, columnist, and former political operative has a MUST-read today entitled, 'Why I Became a Conservative.'

Armed and United posts an informative read on a key event that occurred during WWII concerning the Jews. Read it all.

Speaking of Jews, my favorite Jewish lady in all the world, Pamela Geller, provides a stunning write-up today on John Bolton's assertion that Barack Obama's policies are tantamount to a victory for the terrorist haven of Muslim extremism, Iran.

Conservative Libertarian Outpost comments on our continuing problems with border security--a problem that leaves us with a gaping hole with regard to security risks.

Texas Fred reports breaking news that at least 3 people have been injured in a Florida shooting range mishap.

The Rustmeister informs us of a cigar event in Memphis TODAY at 4 PM. Wish I could be there. Nothing like a good cigar...especially in these Obama days...give me some Scotch with it as well.

Walls of the City points to 'a minor inconsistency.' Interesting...

Say Uncle notes the inexcusable buffoonery of several federal law enforcement agencies who raided and ransacked the home of a 60-year-old grandmother for....raising orchids. Sheesh!

Days of our Trailers has a highly informative read on 'selective correlations' concerning the stats some people use with regard to firearms and crime.

Western Rifle Shooters Association posts essential reading on the anniversary celebrations of the Communist takeover of China and the stupidity of those within the current U.S. government who laud this human rights atrocity and point to supposed 'warm relations' between the 2 nations. Excuse me while I run to hurl.

Tam provides some notes from the shooting range. This lady knows guns better than I know ice cream, pie, pizza, cigars, Scotch, and everything else I'm not supposed to have. And you people wonder why I am often in a bad mood...

Way Up North also tells about his day at the shooting range yesterday way up in the great state of Alaska--home to the next President of the United States, Sarah Palin.

Meeting on the Green reports a story that is sure to make you mad as hell. In fact, any red-blooded American patriot will blow a gasket when he/she reads what the Idiot-in-Chief has done now!

Nicki has a brief video that is an absolute MUST-see! It's a satirical look at 'big government.' You MUST watch this!

Obama's Broken Promises and the McChrystal Factor

Obama isn't listening to 'the commanders on the ground' in Afghanistan. He promised that he would.

Read about this latest broken promise and its broad ramifications in my column today at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

The war in Afghanistan is quickly deteriorating. And the President's apathy and inattention are making matters worse.
